New Partnership between Consorzio Polo Tecnologico Magona and Navigo: Innovation, Sustainability, and New Opportunities in the Nautical Sector
Consorzio Polo Tecnologico Magona is proud to announce the signing of a significant collaboration agreement with Navigo, the service company based in Viareggio that coordinates a network of approximately 200 companies in the nautical sector. This partnership, signed in Cecina by CPTM President Luciano Dell’Omo and Navigo General Director Pietro Angelini, aims to promote technological innovation and sustainability within the nautical industry, focusing on the development and adoption of new materials and the validation of low-impact production processes.
A Shared Vision for the Future of Nautics
Navigo, a leader in services for the nautical sector and promoter of events and training for new marine professions, shares CPTM’s commitment to a more sustainable and innovative industry. CPTM President Luciano Dell’Omo expressed his satisfaction with the agreement, saying, “This agreement is not only an honor but also an inspiration for us to give our best. The partnership with Navigo, a pillar of the nautical industry, allows us to offer our technological expertise to support the shift toward an increasingly sustainable future.”
Goals of the Partnership: Innovation and Sustainability
The agreement between CPTM and Navigo focuses primarily on three strategic pillars:
- Material Innovation: The partnership will explore new opportunities to develop and validate innovative and sustainable materials for boat building, aiming to ensure durable products while reducing production waste and the environmental impact of the production cycle.
- Optimization of Production Processes: CPTM and Navigo will work together to develop and implement advanced production techniques that reduce industrial waste and improve the efficiency of the entire production process, positively impacting sustainability.
- Knowledge Sharing: CPTM will be invited to meet Navigo’s partners and affiliated operators to identify the technologies and processes most suited to meet the specific needs of the nautical sector. Navigo will also provide strategic advice to CPTM to enhance both institutional and business communication.
Boosting the Territory and New Opportunities for Young People
The partnership also includes plans to create training pathways for young people in the area, aiming to build specific skills for nautical professions. Cecina’s mayor, Lia Burgalassi, highlighted how the collaboration between CPTM and Navigo could positively impact the local economy, supporting the development of port infrastructure and creating new jobs. “This agreement strengthens our commitment to relaunch the nautical sector and make Cecina a reference point for tourism and employment,” said the mayor.
The Future of Nautics is Sustainable
Navigo General Manager Pietro Angelini highlighted the project’s relevance in the post-pandemic era, pointing out that the nautical sector is undergoing an unprecedented transformation. “The average age of yacht buyers has shifted from 75 years old a few decades ago to 46 today,” Angelini explained, “and today’s client demands not only highly technological boats but also sustainable and long-lasting ones. Polo Magona is ready to meet these new demands and lead research toward innovative solutions.”
Next Steps
CPTM and Navigo will organize a series of meetings with partners and affiliated companies to evaluate the partnership’s potential. Additionally, CPTM will be invited to the Nautical District of Viareggio to connect directly with sector leaders, further building a network with operators and local institutions.
This partnership marks a new chapter for CPTM, confirming its position as a center of excellence for innovation and sustainable development in Tuscany. With Navigo by its side, the Consorzio Polo Tecnologico Magona is ready to shape the future of the nautical sector, integrating technology, sustainability, and regional growth.
